‘Grassroots’ is an early intervention programme for people living in Forth, Carstairs Junction, Smyllum, Douglas and the Nethan Valley. The aim is to give babies and children the best start in life possible.

Lots of volunteers  got involved, consulting with others throughout the villages to determine what was needed to provide the best outcomes and opportunities for families in the rural area.

From this consultation we are working with partners including NHS Lanarkshire to develop a programme to meet the needs of Expectant Mothers, Parents, Babies & Toddlers, Carers and Grandparents.

Volunteers are currently supporting vulnerable pregnant women to access and attend vital health care appointments and services available to them during their pregnancy.
