My Way

A newly developed 12 week programme of stress management is run in a group and is interactive and educational. It allows you to use stress management skills in your every day life to manage your condition  and your own  situation.

The programme is open to all those affected by a long term condition (including family members or carers) living in the rural area of South Lanarkshire.

Access to the programme will be supported by the provision of transport for those in most need.

On completion of this 12 week stress management programme you will also have the following

opportunities:

© To volunteer as a facilitator, peer support co-ordinator or administrative support

© To attend a regular physical activity

© To attend a peer support  group

© To attend touch and talk therapies

The programme consists of the following:

© 1:1 initial consultation with a therapist

© 6 weeks of group workshops once a week

© 1 session of complimentary therapies

© 1 session of counselling

© 2 sessions of a therapy of your choice

© 1:1 final consultation with therapist

These workshops give people the tools and techniques to help themselves to lead a healthier and happier lifestyle.  In addition to the programme they will be able to attend a weekly exercise class* free of charge and attend a peer support group.

Transport can be arranged if necessary for residents living in the Douglas & Nethan Valley (Glespin, Douglas, Rigside, Douglas Water, Coalburn, Lesmahagow, Kirkmuirhill and Blackwood).
