Resilient Communities

Connect, Support, Nourish and Thrive

Resilient Communities tackles food poverty, social isolation and loneliness through the provision of various group work opportunities that promote physical health and wellbeing for children, young people and adults.

All about food!

We are passionate about making sure everyone has access to healthy, nutritious affordable food. Along with this, we want everyone to feel confident to prepare and cook the food, understand what the body needs for a balanced diet and how to minimise waste.

We have a well-established food education programme and are a registered REHIS training centre. This means as well as ensuring access to good food, we can pass on practical cooking skills, basic nutrition and food safety information through accredited courses.

Be active & environmentally aware!

Keeping the body active to the best of your ability ensures that it works better. There are many ways to keep active.

Taking one step at a time, we continue to strive to create stronger communities, a cleaner environment, and healthier active people.

We have developed our well-established walking programme further to include a cycling programme with eBike trails, guidance on active travel, bike maintenance as well as themed health walks, strength and balance sessions, gentle yoga and more.

Active and outdoor play!

Children and young people should aim to do sixty minutes of activity each day and be encouraged to spend time outdoors.

We aspire to help to reach these goals through our active play programme by encouraging and developing confidence and life skills through positive play opportunities.

These include health and wellbeing courses, outdoor play, and holiday play clubs.

Making connections!

Getting people together to build friendships and social networks is part of being human.

We create opportunities to connect and socialise while practicing self-care and improving confidence and self-esteem.

You may just want to have a chat, or you may want to learn a new skill, make new friends, or find support through signposting or from your peers.
